Clan Line whistles up a Tornado

Clan Line & Tornado whistle a greeting and a farewell as they pass at Byfleet in Surrey. Today, NR decided due to the risk of line side fires that the Belmond British Pullman with Clan Line at the head, should have diesel assistance. So the consist was sent out with clan line leading, a class 67 tucked behind AND a class 67 on the rear. At the same time 60163 Tornado was being moved from the Swanage railway, to the BlueBell railway. They were timed to pass, along the route, and I worked out where they would meet. This is that meeting. A unique scene in many ways, two modern diesels, a heritage diesel (class31) a Heritage steam loco, and a modern steam loco, all in the same place at the same time on the main line.

I took a photo of Clan Line at St Margaret's, at that time it was 10 early! They had put it ahead of the Wimbledon via Kingston stopper rather than behind it. Finally got a photo after I messed up two chances on 7 July
