Anytime day returns Clacton to Witham £15.60 and Witham to Stratford £29.70 total £45.30 plus Oyster PAYG from there (eg £5.90 for a return trip to Oxford Circus). If you are travelling 3 times or more per week or 9/10 times or more per month then a season ticket or combination of season tickets split at a point where your train stops will be cheaper.
If your train stops at Chelmsford you can save a bit by splitting there. For example,
Clacton - Liverpool Street Anytime Return = £51 (not including Travelcard)
Clacton - Chelmsford Anytime Return = £20
Chelmsford - Liverpool Street Anytime Return = £26.60
It sounds like you may be buying a Travelcard (£59.60). The split will still save you money but, if you're not making many journeys in London it may be cheaper to use Oyster instead.
Where do you end up in London?

Where do you end up in London?
I assume that you are buying a £59.60 Anytime Day Travelcard because once you get to Liverpool Street you need to travel around London on the underground and buses etc.
I also assume that you don't travel often enough to make it worthwhile getting a season ticket.
If once you get to London, you only make two Zone 1 underground journeys during the day, then an Anytime Day Return to London at £51, and two £2.20 journeys using a Pay As You Go Oystercard, would save £4.20.
If you are prepared to have a slightly longer journey into London, and get the 0638 to Shenfield arriving 0741, and then the 0744 to Liverpool Street arriving 0825 (and calling at Brentwood and Ilford etc along the way), you could reduce the cost by buying a combination of tickets.
For example, a Clacton to Brentwood Anytime Day Return is £26.30 and a Brentwood to London Zones 1 to 6 Anytime Day Travelcard is £23.80, making a total of £50.10. But ... you would need to be on a train that calls at Brentwood, hence the change at Shenfield. Splitting the tickets at Shenfield or Ilford instead of Brentwood produces similar savings, but you would need to be on a train that stops at the station where you switch from one ticket to the other.
And if you don't need a travelcard, but just an Anytime Day Return from Brentwood to Liverpool Steet plus a couple of £2.20 Oyster PAYG underground journeys, that would bring the total down to £26.30 + £15.10 + £4.40 = £45.80
There's more to be saved if you are prepared to go out through the barriers at Shenfield or Brentwood and come back in using a PAYG Oystercard, but that saving would need to be set against increased journey time.
Perhaps if you tell us what journeys you make once you are in London someone will be able to give you some precise suggestions.
