I've been wondering when we'd be seeing the last of the ratty old Cl315's, and I think the answer may have been sometime a couple of months ago. I can't remember the last time I drove one and haven't even seen any for quite a while. What makes me think that they are all done is that the FGE refurbs also seem to have disappeared.
Until this evening that is. As I rolled into the New Shed at Ilford I noticed 315806 sitting a few roads further over looking all spick and span. It has had it's interiors done the same as the rest of the class and has been repainted. However, the livery are the standard 'one' colours of grey/blue with black window surrounds and pale blue doors. What is different is that it has no vinyls, which means no branding and no "refresher" stripes at each end. This makes me wonder whether the NEx liveries we've seen so far are an Intercity livery but that the suburban stock will get a variation based on the existing 'one' colour scheme but with new vinyls.
I guess we shall just have to wait and see.
