I am trying to buy tickets on this service from Copenhagen to Amsterdam, but cant find a site that sells the tickets.

I am also trying to find if the service runs every night.


I've tried the DB site but it says i need to put in the german abbrievations, (I've also tried rail europe, but they seem to charge much more).

although it may only run to Utrecht on some dates due to engineering work between Utrecht and Amsterdam

it says that tickets cannot be booked on the internet, this seems to be due to the fact that the CNL does not run through to Amsterdam and you have to change onto an IC in Utrecht or Eindhoven or elsewhere

Prices from EUR 49 for a seat to EUR 139 for your own cabin.

Can't find the days when it's not bookable - what date are you looking at?

Only issue I can see is that for a good deal of July-August the train is diverted via Venlo with an hour's delay.

Don't understand the bit about German abbreviations - never come across that before.

Its allowing me to buy tickets for when I want to travel in October, I want to book one person in an economy double.

It asks in the next window after I confirm the time of my train am I male or female, does this mean I have share my cabin?? I'd much rather my own room

You need to book an Economy Single cabin.

For the extra EUR 60, IMHO, it's really worth it.

You're going to be on the train for 15 hours, and several of those (presumably!) awake.

If you book an economy double it's left to chance if the other bed will be occupied or not. And if it's occupied, it could be anyone! Maybe a nice person, or maybe a really annoying person, or someone who gets up at 5am or gets drunk... etc.

Some people are happy to share, but I would never do it. The EUR 60 extra is just worth so much for a private, calm trip. Then you can spread your belongs out where you want, read, look out of the window, whatever you like.

Basically, would you book into a hotel and share with someone? I wouldn't!!!

sharing a couchette is fine, but I've only shared a sleeper compartment once, it was a three berth and very cramped
