Citylink Gold, Glasgow- Inverness

The timing of the nonstop Citylink gold bus from Glasgow to Inverness is 3h23, marginally slower than the train, 3h15 - 3h20. I've never used the gold bus before but with leather seats and complimentary snacks, it looks a no-brainer for the total cost of 50p booking fee as a Scottish entitlement card holder.

So can anyone think of a good reason to go by train instead? I'm planning to travel in February when hopefully the trains will be running normally again.

Because the coach network is far less well known than the rail network and there is a snob element - certain people would not be seen dead on a coach. It is also not a guaranteed turn up and go service - if its full you are not going to travel.
