I'd normally take the train and have not taken any coaches in the UK for over 10 years, so the following may be stupid questions.
Next Sunday I arrive in Edinburgh and want to get to Glasgow ASAP. Then on Monday night I go back to Edinburgh and want to get off at the zoo - hence the 900 makes sense rather than the train.
- How full is the coach likely to be on Sunday early afternoon?
- It looks like the website wants me to book a specific trip, but obviously I can't guarantee my train will arrive on time. Do any trips ever sell out?
- The website sells return tickets for £10, is it the same price from the driver?
- I will have a backpack and a small rigid case that comfortably fits between my legs despite being 6 feet tall. So even if it's quite full and I have to sit next to someone else, it will be fine, as the small case goes on the floor in front of me and the backpack goes on my lap. However the website says you can only bring one bag on board. Is this really going to be enforced? I cannot put either bag in the hold.
- From Waverley station I can either go to Edinburgh bus station or walk west along Princes St to stop PU. I would prefer stop PU as I have more chance of catching an earlier coach there. Will it make much of a difference where I board?
- Is it possible to get picked up by car from Buchanan bus station? There seem to be some parking spaces near the taxi rank on the north side but my colleague is concerned about getting "fined".
- On the return trip, I have not been to that part of Edinburgh before and it will be dark. Does the coach stop at every stop, or do I need to pay attention so I can press the bell at the right time?
