Foxstar are done .Which way we look at it .I cant remember a forum member here who was telling Rhys to chill in his posts. Some hours before he was ranting about Stagecoach due to the changes at Market Square bus station. He may have taken down the post but it must be some where .

The post is still around, plenty of people have screenshotted it and shared it. A number of us on here and elsewhere knew based on his previous dealings that this wouldn't last long! Interesting times nonetheless.

Interesting indeed. It's never boring with the various aspects of Cityfox and its "expansions" but then again, we should see what Rhys has to say.

Didn't the post almost 2 months ago some teasers on Facebook for a Cardiff expansion? We've not heard anything yet so that must be off the cards now too. I may go have a browse of some of the recent N&Ps and see if anything pops up...

I believe that the Bristol Suss/Babcock contract is due to start soon, this being the service that Rhys claims to be purchasing two new E400MMC to run on it.

With regard to today’s events there’s quite likely to be various versions of what’s happened.

He’s only got 3 o discs. How would he do the Bristol contracts, Newport services, and the teased Cardiff expansion with just 3 discs? I’ve been wandering for a while!

I’ll save you wasting your time, ive already looked. Only thing of interest was refusal of additional discs at a PI

I've no experience of Foxstar's management or previous exploits but what they posted on Facebook today was entirely unprofessional, seeking to essentially implicate a fellow operator and external business in 'dodgy' business. It'll be interesting to see what happens in Newport tomorrow anyway.

A rebrand to "TheNone" springs to mind!

Rhys’s explanation of the refusal this thread at the time ‘I did withdraw the application. I wrote to the TC a week before the first planned Public Inquiry saying we didn’t wish to go ahead, preferring instead to concentrate on developing the Welsh business (no point tying up financial standing and TM resources where we don’t need them).

This resulted in the adjournment of the first PI, presumably to give them time to think about it. However, the Office of the TC subsequently advised that since the application had been submitted formally and a PI scheduled, it still needed to be examined. We subsequently wrote and said that we definitely didn’t want the licence and therefore wouldn’t be presenting a case at Public Inquiry, in any event there was no Transport Manager on the application by then and therefore refusal was inevitable.’

No doubt RH has an equally simple explanation for today’s events.

But wasn't he also looking for dormant operators in Wales with O Discs and offering to buy them out. I believe he done this with Snowdonia Travel Limited?

This Rhys Hand sounds like quite a character then. Hearing elsewhere they will be running tomorrow with buses from elsewhere. Who knows!

He's relatively young, and while I must admit to being rather impressed at what he's built up at that age (and envious that I wouldn't have the wherewithal to do that even now) I think he often seems, from what we read as members of the public, to take a very young approach to management, which tends to be very informal and often a little disorganised and acting on whims (not dissimilar to how most people of his age tend to manage their personal finances and calendar). I suspect the latter may have resulted in today's events.

Trying to undercut an incumbent operator known to be loss-making after a larger, more established firm has already tried and given up doesn't appear to be a particularly promising business proposition.

Throw a bus here, throw a bus there, don't pay bills, rant on social media, attend award events... I must say his way of operating is odd... Very odd!

It's pretty evident that TheOne would never cover the costs of those buses and the drivers.

Well Ive never seen TheOne even a quarter full when I've been in Newport, reminiscent of when N.A.T had a go there.

I guess that Phil Stockley should be able to clarify what is the current situation.

Ah, thanks, I thought he was still an adviser.

I think there was still some involvement in the since closed "my first mile" up until about this time last year but, TBF, he's probably had a lot to be busy with given the growth agenda of CT Plus. Mind you, still listed as a director of Cityfox Bus Ltd (10209946) along with Nick Siddaway according to Companies House.

Operating the service this morning are LX10 AUR, LX10 AUV and SK17 HHC. The E200 still in LG colours, but do have a destination display (not electronic). Number of passengers alighting in the High St looked similar to Newport Bus and N.A.T.
