It appears that they trialled this on a weekend in June. I was randomly browsing the internet when I stumbled upon this blog that some guy who uses the tube a lot writes, and he's given his account on using the entirety of the new circle line, which I thought was interesting. I have a feeling most of the problems associated with the trial involving announcements were mainly because it was a trial, and hopefully that will be sorted by December.
