why the hell have you got a sony DSLR? Canon, Nikon, Olympus are probably the best brands to go for. I have to agree with Nath9425 and loader on this though, after reading the thread about DSLRs with live view and the other thread about what a good DSLR is

They probably are better brands to get but a Sony DSLR is still very good, I still use my A100, and i'm still learning how to use it in different ways

As for Fred, if you have got it, congratulations if that is what you wanted and enjoy using it. Maybe it's just because of christmas, I dont agree with everything you post but it is a little bit unfair to critiscise what you have received for christmas. Have fun with it.

Taken on a Tamron 18-200 lense and at 10mp.

I got a Sony because I have lenses that will fit the Sony, which meant I have lots of choice between them.

Looking at your photo's it's clear that you know how to use it. Fred though, some shots I've seen that he's taken using his S5700 have come out underexposed, blurred or out of focus (A bit blike my little bro's but he doesn't have anything that posh).

I have to confess though, my S9600 broke again at the end of october, somewhere between my house and cyprus. I only had it about a week before it happened. My mum said that seeing as we had just got it repaired, that we may as well get a new one if it's gonna keep doing that. I actually own a Canon EOS 450D now, with a 18-55mm lens. I was told somewhere (can't remember where) that if you paid by credit card or something, you'd get paid back the money that you paid for the product. Also, don't these places have a 28 day return policy?

If it's broken then you can take it back in a reasonable period, regardless of any "return policy." Credit card protection only applies over £100.

The administrators are not accepting the vouchers, which is an entirely legal decision. IIRC, Woolies took the same action. Source. Now, you should get a refund, but this was bought before the cut off date and is therefore a loss of £20.

As for the STB, woolies refuse refunds and returns (again, within their legal rights) so here's hoping it doesn't break...

Correct, but ONLY credit card (ie not debit card), and only, IIRC, if it was more than £100.
