Christmas,Boxing and New Year's day services

Transdev run a vastly reduced service on Boxing Days, into Manchester/Leeds and a few local-ish ones across the busiest towns. Think it was 2015 these were introduced. Seem to be very popular though, they had to run extra buses into Manchester from Burnley this year to keep up with demand.

Nothing on Christmas day in East Lancs though, aside from the free Hospital Shuttle service between Burnley General and Royal Blackburn.

I believe Stagecoach's Gold 1 operated a half hour service on Xmas Day from Aldershot to Camberley, but the company, as usual, made it very difficult to access the details - all the company wants to know is your location. Well, Penzance as it happens, but so what? I might have been enquiring on behalf of a possible genuine 'customer'. Just display the darned timetable!

Merseyside, New Years Day buses operate, very much reduced frequencies & operating hours, from the Boxing Day timetable, buses New Years Day from 10am until 6pm, Boxing Day from 8am until 7pm

Such as the 1 Chester-Liverpool, Boxing Day 1/X1 were each every 20 minutes each[X1 Cheshire Oaks-Liverpool only] from 8am until 7pm, New Years Day is hourly, 1 Chester-Liverpool from 10am until 6pm with couple of journey's to/from Birkenhead depot, X1 is not operating

On the flip side, Merseyrail are operating a Sunday service all stations open, Boxing Day was a special service 9am until 6pm.

At least on the Arriva site you can click the region without having to constantly type out location first

Where i live all of the bus companies run an ordinary full Sunday timetable (just like on other Bank Holidays and Public Holidays) on New Years Day. This is pretty much the case throughout all of Sussex and Surrey and the South East area. It seems strange that many other parts of the country have nothing at all on New Years Day. But on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day there is no buses running anywhere near me.

First wessex ran a successful new years eve service until 3/4am in Weymouth and Dorchester. This was also a free service after 8pm due to funding from the Weymouth BID.

Services ran every 30 minutes on
Route 1 to Portland. Last bus from town 315am. Last return 341am.
Route 2 to Littlemoor. Last bus from town 255am. Last return 312am.
Route 8 to chickerell. Last bus from town 308am. Last return 330am.
Route 10 to Dorchester and poundbury. Last bus from town 245am. Last return 312am.

The service was mostly operated by the Jurassic Scania Omnidekkas and Volvo geminis. Plus some b7rles and Streetlites.

Christmas Day - no services

Boxing Day - buses on Sunday services. Mo tram service.

New Years Eve - buses and trams shut down earlier

New Years Day - as boxing day

Sheffield has Boxing Day and New Years Day buses in operation through contract to SYPTE. These are run by First, Stagecoach and TM Travel.

New Years Day there is a reduced service in operation run wholly by First and this is funded by Sheffield City Council.

There are also XPO staff shuttle buses operating from Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield on these days and also Christmas Day. These are both open (208 Rotherham to Grimethorpe etc.) and closed to the public (XPO Shuttle buses) but only run at shift times.
