Chris Cornell lead singer of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and also a solo artist responsible for work including the theme from the James Bond film Casino Royale died last night.
Details are a bit sketchy as to what happened at the moment.
I must say I was absolutely gutted and very surprised to hear about his death on the way to work this morning and I know there're a few fans of his on the forum.
I went to see them in London in the early 90s with some friends who'd won tickets for the 'Superunknown' tour. It was one of the best gigs I've ever been to and after the first couple of songs Chris kicked all the press out of the area in front of the stage so the fans could move forward and be nearer the stage.
His voice was immense and completely filled the room.
An amazing vocalist and talent. RIP Chris.
