What are you considering in Wales? It’s an awfully large geography where journey times are quite lengthy.

I’m considering going to Cardiff and taking a TFW loco-hauled service to an undecided location — would be grateful for any suggestions.
They go up the Marches line, so Crewe for traffic or onto the Cambrian for travel.

Freedom of North West Rover (4 days in 8) allows you to cover railways including Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds as far North as Carlisle (Plus Lockerbie, Dumfries & Hexham)
.
Coast & Peaks Rover (4 days in 8) includes Liverpool & Manchester, plus North Wales Coast, Crewe & Shrewsbury (Class 67 rides possible between Manchester & Shrewsbury).
