"Why would honour killings be a problem for me"?
Are you on the same planet? Are you telling me that you're quite happy to accept a man murdering his sister/daughter/niece because he's unhappy with the person that she's chosen to spend the rest of her life with. Please, don't come out with the usual lame excuse of, "it's the culture, we musn't interfere with people's culture".

He said specific issue. i.e. why did you single that out? How are honour killings something that threaten you personally?

It's very telling that you missed out the very word in your quote that gave the sentence its intended meaning, rather than the question that you actually replied to.

Seeing as The Knight Who (practices high school debating) appears to be the authority on racism, why not tell us why discriminating on the basis of skin colour is worse than say mental capacity?

As someone who has discriminated against someone for something they cannot control or change, what makes you any better than a racist?

Just because there isn't a term called "stupidist" in the english lexicon?

Honestly, watching white people get upset by racism is the most hypocritical activity on earth. The only people that get upset by racism is whites.

Why do you feel the need to "go into bat" for them?

All you are doing is perpetuating hate by adding more hate.

Seriously, The Knight Who, embrace love, not hate ;)

Thank you for making assumptions about my identity, and then using them to call me a hypocrite.

I feel you didn't really think that one through, in your attempt to brush all racism under carpet as something that never actually upsets people that are victims of it... Because frankly, that's insultingly silly and blatantly not true.

After reading the seven pages of this thread, all I can see is some uni student frothing at the mouth over "race". Whether this is down to the EU referendum where the angry uni students are still upset about the result I don't know but as I've said before in other posts that there is no such thing as racism - there is only a single race and you'll find its human.

Secondly, if China, Japan or other Oriential country is sending out warnings to avoid certain areas then fair enough. I don't think that someone of a different ethnical background would be safe wandering into Chapelfields or Acomb at night with a load of whites ruling the place, only the other year Acomb's Christmas Tree was trashed. Take the area where i live (Huddersfield), its not safe - there's people who are of many ethnicities who are as bad as white.

I'm white and have a certain degree of tollerace, but when some starts with the race card I zone out and will state to the easily offended being the facts in a non PC way. I've been called a lobster before now by someone who was black, did it bother me - nope, I saw the funny side of it taking in consideration that I don't tan well.

It does amaze me how sensitive some people are to racism being pointed out. Loving the attempts to paint it as "frothing at the mouth" when I've explained very clearly, and no-one has yet explained how it wasn't racist...

If the word "racism" is too PC for you, then you seriously need to have a think about why the word bothers you so much. It really seems to have hit a nerve with some here.

Twice for me too, both in the same Midlands city. In each case the attacker was young, male, and black, whilst the person who came to my aid in the first case was young, male, and Chinese. Police not interested in either case.

Police not interested in my or my wife's cases either until (a) my second one made front page of local paper and (b) I wrote a letter to the Chief Constable, in which I thought I made some telling points about policing in my neck of the woods, and he apparently broke the habits of a lifetime and kicked a few asses, resulting in the arrest and conviction. I might add that one individual was waging war locally, everyone knew who he was but he seemed untouchable.

This is arguing over semantics? Call it what you want; it exists.

There are people of different ethnic backgrounds in those parts of York, and I don't agree it is not "safe" for them. As for the event of 4 years ago to which you refer (which I had to search for to find), if that's the best you can do to state somewhere is unsafe, you would have to try harder.

I'm white and have a certain degree of tollerace, but when some starts with the race card I zone out and will state to the easily offended being the facts in a non PC way. But that doesn't mean racism (or whatever you want to call it) doesn't exist.

Post 84 refers. There was a specific question aimed at me, I answered it. Honour killings do not specifically threaten me, I just feel that they are very very wrong and my point was that only one of the three races/nationalities that are being mentioned by the original topic ever really get involved in it. Why are you - and others - determined to make me out to be some sort of wicked racist by mis-quoted me or being disingenuous when when I'm not.

Yes old son I'm on the same planet as you, even if I say that with a certain amount of regret.

Now then, you have suggested that entering a borough / suburb that had a Black / Pakistani population would cause you to be on the receiving end of physical or verbal abuse but how would an "honour" killing do you any harm? I concur that any honour killing is a despicable act but are you suggesting that you might be personally affected by an "honour" killing?

Further more "honour" killings occur far less often than other forms of domestic violence but of course that doesn't suit your argument. Not only that but "honour" killings are certainly not limited to the Muslim faith but again this is something else that you have chosen to ignore.

I don't think you're wicked. I do think what you said was racist, and I have explained at length why.
