Hi all,
I currently work for a TOC in the revenue department but have been offered an interview for Chiltern in their trainee train manager position.
I know I may be jumping ahead but just wanted a bit of info regarding the company and the job role to see if it's worth jumping ship or just waiting around for my own TOC to recruit.
#1 - how long will the "trainee" rate be paid for? Is it for the 12 week training or until you've done your route learning and are out and about on your own?
#2 - are Sunday's compulsory or is there an incentive to work them?
#3 - how much overtime is available? Do you get pretty much what you want?
#4 - what are the diagrams and shifts like? How many days a week on average do you work and what sort of hours? How many weekends do you get?
#5 - what is the company like in general?? Is the management good and the company a good one to work for?
Sorry for all the questions it's just difficult to decide as the "training wage" I would have to take a huge pay cut so just weighing up my options.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out
