Not really! They still get 1tph, another station at Moor St. with 2tph, and a more reliable service at Moor St.! Birmingham makes more gains than losses here!

The timetable looks good from my end (Birmingham). Now get a local train to Leamington plus use of Platforms 3 and 4 at Moor St.

Dare I say, also good to have some 165s more regularly coming to Birmingham, at least its something different to photo (although they do come to Birmingham sometimes)

Had a look at how they were getting on at Moor Street with the reinstated platforms 3 and 4. They have extended both at the London end and the walls for these are complete. They are making progress with paving these extensions. Ballast is in between platform 3 and 4 together with sleepers (but no rail). I can't see if the new access to the bays is in place but there is certainly a crossover between up and down mains already in use.

I guess the new platforms will be ready in plenty of time as the only major works seems dropping in the access and probably wiring up the new signalling.

Hmm, interesting stuff. take it services from the North (ie Worcester/Kidd/Smethwick will terminate at Snow Hill, what'll happen to those from marylebone/Banbury/Warwick?

They're being introduced in December 2011, once the mark 3s have been refurbished with sliding plug doors, etc (Which surely has to be starting soon if they are going to be ready in time?). Frees up a few 168s for the new Marylebone-Oxford service.

Does that mean the doors will be automatic, if so they will be very like the 442 trailers as regards to doors.

It would still make a lot of sense for both the December 2010 and May 2011 EG3 timetable, if a combined Chiltern and LM proposal were to be published. The consultation would then be more valid as we could see the whole story.
After all ATOC would have us believe all of the TOCs have the same goal!!!!

Nothing changes with LM though, they dont use the bays, and some of their services are re-timed ever so slightly at Moor St to let stuff out the bays.

i.e. painfully slow and absolutely useless at any stations with track cant. Also equipped with a nice solid bar which is the perfect height for cracking your head on.

Where did they run to last time the Moor Street line was shut? I know they ran to at least Coventry in September 2007.
