Sounds interesting, though I imagine most passengers would want some kind of travelcard so not sure how useful it is

At Chiltern Railways, we are about to launch a trial of a new and exciting way to pay for your travel using your smartphone. We are working to create a system that will automatically determine the journeys you have taken and charge you the best available rate at the end of the day. Theres no need to use ticket machines and as you travel ticket gates will open using Bluetooth beacon technology.
We are looking for a small group of volunteers to help us test this new technology. The pilot will be IOS based and conducted on the Chiltern Railways route between Oxford Parkway, Bicester Village, Bicester North and London Marylebone.
