Chiltern refund - impressed.

Hi all.

I bought an online return ticket from Banbury to Birmingham Snow Hill on Thursday evening for travel on Friday. Unfortunately I couldn’t travel, so requested a refund. I was quite surprised, checking my account tonight (Saturday), that the refund is back in my account already. I think that’s pretty good service.

What happened to the £10 refund fee you used to be charged - is this now gon?

Was your ticket bought from Chiltern direct or another retailer?
Chiltern still charge a £10 admin charge, however there was significant disruption on Friday, so it could be they were just refund all requests without checking if they were actually due to disruption.

Chiltern generally don't charge an admin fee for web sales if you request the refund before the originally booked time (and haven't collected the ticket for a TOD.)

It was booked on the Chiltern website. It was a Chiltern only Anytime Day Return. I cancelled the ticket on the Friday, first thing in the morning - around 8 a.m.
