Folks so we received an administrative settlement quote of low three figure gbp and made the payment. Really apppreciate everyone’s help to settle this matter. Peace now.
That was quick! Glad you've got it sorted out to your satisfaction and you can now relax and put it behind you. If you need any help with information about fares and rail travel in the future, this forum (well, the Fares Advice bit not the Disputes section, I hope) is a good place to start.

We may also have taken a train earlier this week at 9:29 while I now understand that the offpeak starts after 9:30 am.
Whilst off-peak time does not always start at 09:29, a more important factor is Network Railcards aren't valid before 10:00.
