It would appear that Chiltern are closing High Wycombe - Princes Risborough all day, and High Wycombe - Banbury from 1900 on Friday 5th November

Bicester North, Haddenham & Thame and Princes Risborough services will be diverted via Aylesbury and Amersham it seems.

They are diverting Snow Hill/Kidderminster services into Didcot Parkway for connections rather than the usual Oxford

Surprising they'd do that on a Friday, though I do find my commute a lot quieter than Monday - Thursday.

Should be an interesting day!

So Wrexham & Shropshire could be seen at Oxford/Diddyland?

Wrexham & Shropshire have yet to publish a timetable for that date: it'll probably be yet another replacement bus service, or no service at all.

It's a sad indictment of the state of our railways, when you don't know what times trains are going to run, or whether they will run at all, on a date only a month away. Unfortunately, people just seem to put up with it.

To be fair, W&SR can only go with what they're given from Network Rail. Don't forget that the line undergoing some pretty major work, so delays are bound to be expected.

As for timetabling, why is it unnacceptable to not know the timetable a month in advance? In any case, big projects have to be given slack to allow for delays in construction, etc. Surely it's better not to plan so early in advance if there's a significant risk that the timetable will only be changed?

I wouldn't put it down to a shoddy state of the railways, more not being too dependent on the accurate timekeeping of a major engineering project.

The closure is to reinstate one of the through lines at Princes Risborough as part of Evergreen 3

The timetable has now appeared, in Excel format, and features three trains each way: 1100, 1700 and 1825 ex-Marylebone, and 0510, 0723 and 1525 ex-Wrexham.

Up trains are "fast" from Tame Bridge to Marylebone. Two of the down trains are fast to Wolves (pick up only), with only the last one calling at Tame Bridge.

Not having TRUST access to hand, I can only surmise that they'll be doing the usual weekend "trick" of reversing by Wembley LMD to take Acton Bank to Acton Canal Wharf, and reverse again there to join the WCML near Wembley Central.

Cheers,

Barry
