Not quite. It's a route learner to/from Banbury

Noticed that yesterday arriving about 12:30. It shuttled out to the next signal on the westbound line and then back into the station, presumably to free up platform space, heading back towards Oxford at around 13:00.

It was there again today

Also yesterday, a very clean HST set passed through from the Oxford branch about 12.55 and through the station west to east. On the rear was 43189 (currently nameless) with what looked like a blanked out name plate.

Anyone else see this, or know if this is about to be renamed?

I'm curious...

What made you think it came via Claydon?

There is no technical reason why it shouldn't have routed that way with a reversal at Claydon.
