Have purchased a day return family ticket from Birmingham Snow Hill to London Marleybone at a bargain 25.00 return for the two of us - which includes underground travel for the day.

I notice that the departure states ' Birmingham STNS' As I am actually travelling from Sutton Coldfield which is in the Birmingham area. Do I have to purchase a ticket from Sutton Coldfield to Bham New Street or am I covered with this ticket?

You will need another ticket to cover Sutton Coldfield to Birmingham New Street - in this context 'Birmingham Stns' refers to Birmingham New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill, but not stations within the wider city of Birmingham.

BTW, welcome, and that really is a bargain!

Most stations in what used to be the West Midlands County have the same fare for long distance journeys to stations outside it, so if available for this ticket (might not be for this particular ticket but for most it is) it may in future be better to book a through ticket.

Also note as you're travelling from Sutton Coldfield into New Street you will be better off joining the train at Moor Street.
