Only because the recession made the office block uneconomic.

As i said, once the economy picks up again, it could well be back on the cards

Calling what they're doing to the Thameslink station a "rebuild" is a bit of stretch. They've added a footbridge with lifts and a cheapo new exit.

I picture the station as the (post HS2) Willesden Junction/Clapham Junction/Finsbury Park of the Chiltern and Met main lines. Namely, almost everything should stop.
