So...A full rake works out at a theoretical ETS index of 50, or potentially 42 if the galley's been stripped out/isolated. Loco wouldn't be breaking a sweat (as it can handle an index of 100), but it's touch and go for the gensets...assuming they're even working.

Have they actually panelled over it now? Last time I was on one it was basically just a closed buffet (but that was a while ago).

The RFMs had two MA sets. Not sure whether that setup was retained when the kitchen was shrunk, or when the static converters were fitted (which I believe came later?). If so, one of them may have been isolated if no longer needed.

I have no idea about this, but is ETS rating based on a theoretical maximum draw ? In other words on a particularly hot or very cold day with the air con or heating ramping away, and with a lot of cooking / cooling going on in the kitchen. If however the kitchen was closed down and no draw on the system, and weather quite ambient, would the current draw be substantially less ?

The static converters were fitted especially for Chiltern so they may have isolated the kitchen at the same time.

Think it was before they stopped catering, wasn't it? I do vaguely recall now that it was mentioned on one of the forums that they were doing this.
