The Chiltern Railways route map shows "occasional services" to London Paddington. What is the nature of these services?

I believe this is a once-daily Mon-Fri trip into Paddington as a parliamentary service and to keep the route knowledge up in case of diversions :)

Until the Evergreen timetable sets in, it is a M-F Paddington-High Wycombe run only. After the new timetable, it is a M-F Paddington-Gerrards Cross (I think)-Paddington run.

I thought it was often the case when Marylebone was closed for weekend engineering works too and, in the next week when Chiltern have midweek engineering works in the run up to their new high speed trains.

Lots of Chiltern services into Paddington next week. So much so that the FGW Paddington-Greenford service is suspended.

That would explain a lack of services when I checked the LDBs for Drayton Green earlier. NRE and FGW haven't exactly made that easy to find out about though - on NRE's service alterations page you would have to look under the "Engineering work affecting Chiltern Railways" heading (as obviously a passenger on the Greenford branch automatically knows that works on the Chiltern line would result in no Greenford services  )

FGW's JourneyCheck page makes no mention of it either, instead information is tucked away in a PDF elsewhere on the site.
