From what I remember of Children's TV, it was all very boring - Muffin the Mule and Crackerjack - all in black and white.

I didn't really start getting interested until I was in my late teens/early 20s, and then ITV's answer to Blue Peter- "Magpie" became my favourite, although I suspect the fascination was not so much the programme content but the hot pants and tight jumpers Susan Stranks used to wear.

Chorlton and the Wheelies.

Something tells me I am a similar age to EM2. I would add The Clangers to the list. Pixar have so much still to learn!!

My brother and sister and I all used to love a show called Playbox. However, two of us have an odd story to tell about it relating to dreams. But I've already told this story before; if you do a search for Playbox, the only post to mention the word "playbox" - before this one of course! - was this post from nine months ago. Meanwhile, my sister used to get nightmares from it, apparently. I've never had a nightmare before...!

Fireball XL5
Supercar
Stingray
Thunderbirds

Gerry Anderson would be so proud :p

Did you ever see the Channel 4 version of it called "Travelling Light"? Basically the same concept with Tim Grundy and The Eye travelling the country over the course of a few weeks; with what they'd filmed each week shown in the Friday (IIRC)? That one seems to have disappeared into a black hole.

No, I never saw that. Not even sure I heard about it - oh well!

I must admit I'd forgotten about Art Attack, quite an entertaining programme.

Rentaghost. This was excellent. Later on I enjoyed Scooby Doo but always had nightmares about the ghosts on it.

I'm not surprised. They showed the one series, then it seems to have been forgotten about; and I can find no reference to it anywhere!

I saw Pipkins once and it scared the hell out of me, all the puppets look like they've had a severe accident.

Take a look at this youtube clip, its one of wierdest kids shows Ive ever seen.

I didn't mind Pipkins, except for the bit where this huge voice (imagine Brian Blessed in an echo chamber) would say 'It's TIME!' and there would be a load of discordantly chiming clocks. Gave me the willies.
