Child One day Travelcard TFl

Hi folks,

Not sure if I’m being thick or whether the TFL One day travel cards have changed.


We are travelling from Chalfont and Latimer to Central London tomorrow, leaving at 08.30ish (Peak). Adults are using contactless, but my 14 year old son doesn’t have a bank card.

Previously we would buy an Off Peak One day Travelcard (usually from Amersham) that he would use without issue.

I’ve just gone to check the website to look up the price of the Peak Anytime Child one day Travelcard and noticed this (see photo).

The first point says there is no Travelcard for his journey yet displays a price below of £13.60.

So, can we buy a Child Anytime One day Travelcard or not?

Also, we’ve never had a ZIP photo card for one day travelcards before, do we now need one?

It's a clunky way of saying that there isn't a zone 1-8 travelcard, but you can use a zone 1-9 one instead. If you have a zip photocard then it works like contactless. It's extremely good value if you're travelling off-peak so you'd make up the fee for the card in only a few days. You don't need a zip card to buy a child travelcard though.
