Chesterfield to Aberdeen, return via Hartlepool

I hope one of the fares experts can help me get the best value ticket. 2 adults, both with Senior Railcards wanting to travel as follows:

Thu 14/12 Chesterfield to Aberdeen, leaving around 07:00 and arriving Aberdeen around 14:00
Fri 15/12 Aberdeen to Hartlepool, no real time constraints, but lets say arriving Hartlepool late afternoon
Sat 16/12 Hartlepool to Chesterfield, leaving after 17:30

I've been playing around with various ticketing options, and I wondered about Chesterfield to Newcastle single, Newcastle to Aberdeen return, then Newcastle to Chesterfield with overnight break of journey in Hartlepool. But I'm getting confused about what might be best.

Are either of these options permitted routes on a return ticket?
(A) Chesterfield to Aberdeen returning through Hartlepool with an overnight break of journey?
Or
(B) Chesterfield to Newcastle, again returning through Hartlepool with an overnight break of journey?

Suspect not in either case but you never know and I freely admit that the routing guide confuses me.

I hope I've explained myself properly and I'd be really grateful for any advice that people might be able to offer.

Thats the plan. Aberdeen v Eintracht Frankfurt on the Thursday and Hartlepool v Chesterfield on the Saturday. Just not sure yet about Aberdeen

Maybe someone can say if the Forum’s booking site could generate an itinerary including seat reservations for this trip with the overnight break of journey or whether there is a limit to the “allow extra time”.

All in all then whilst some splits or advances may be cheaper the Off Peak Return (it’s interesting that 0700 is considered off peak but not uncommon with these long journeys) does exactly what you need it to.

Sadly the combined Aberdeen & Hartlepool trip won't be happening, Aberdeen FC couldn't sell me tickets for their match against Eintracht Frankfurt because I hadn't got any loyalty points – UEFA regulations to prevent German fans buying tickets in the home section, even though I'm English. Oh well, still going to Hartlepool v Chesterfield though...

Sadly the combined Aberdeen & Hartlepool trip won't be happening, Aberdeen FC couldn't sell me tickets for their match against Eintracht Frankfurt because I hadn't got any loyalty points – UEFA regulations to prevent German fans buying tickets in the home section, even though I'm English.

Ordinarily I expect there would have been some leeway to sell you a ticket, but on this occasion, there will be no Frankfurt fans permitted at the match due to a recent UEFA disciplinary outcome.

UEFA Appeal Body Decision

Match: UECL HJK Helsinki vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (0:1), 09.11.2023
Charges against Eintracht Frankfurt:
Decision: To fine Eintracht Frankfurt €30,000 and to ban Eintracht Frankfurt from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next (1) UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks and throwing of objects.

Thank you for the info about Frankfurt fans, I follow European competitions pretty closely but I didn’t know they'd been naughty in the previous match.
