Hello,

My neighbours are going out for the day tomorrow to a venue next to Hampstead Heath overground.

As the parking around there is poor they are considering taking the train.

The party is made up of the following:

Three adults
One student with disc card
One child

I know it is a bit of a painful 3 leg journey but is it cost effective?

Over to the ticket experts!

Sorry, she said Student card and I said 18-25 and she said yes

That could be 16-25 National Railcard, or 18+ Student Oyster card?

I'd do Cheshunt to Hackney Downs, 6-7 min walk to Hackey Central, then straight to Hampstead Heath. Unless there's any engineering work in the way of course. Oyster single fares are:

Adult: £3.10
with 16-25: £2.05
Child: £1.10 (needs zip card) or £4.50 for one-day travelcard

Not sure which bus replacement service that is! Everything your neighbours would have needed is running. There is a partial closure on the North London Line, but only between Hackney Wick and Stratford.

Oh dear a schoolboy error it would seem.

Still if it had been me I would have driven
