Was the last 82 departure from Northwich to Chester always as early as 1625 before D&G took over the route? I can remember a couple of years ago riding on a late afternoon bus from Northwich to Chester and it was packed with many standing. There were lots of school children and people travelling home from work on the bus and it was still quite busy right through to Chester. The only reason I remember it was because it was such a horrendous, uncomfortable crowded journey that I wouldn’t want to do again.

Last bus to Chester was 19:35 under Arriva but it didn't go to the Bus Exchange in Chester, also worth remembering the 82 was reduced when GHA Coaches went in to administration and Arriva took it over. From the D&G timetable I get the impression they have long layovers so that drivers can have statutory breaks between services, so possibly terminating the last two services at Sandiway (where they can do a quick run down the A556 to Wincham) is to prevent additional drivers being required. Between Tarvin and Chester there is an alternative in the Arriva 84, as well as the train option from Northwich-Greenbank-Delamere-Chester.
