going to cardiff, tommorow around mid-morning, i have a railcard, any cheaper splitting at newport, or advance??

I doubt you'll get anything cheaper than the £11 Advance singles on the 1011 and 1111 trains. As you haven't said you are returning, I've assumed you want one way! And without a railcard as if you have one I'm sure you would have mentioned it!

Mind you, if you do want to go back the same day then it's a little cheaper to split at Newport, an off peak return is £10.90 from Chelteham plus £3.80 on to Cardiff compared to £15.60 Anytime, saving 90p. A longer stay would be different again...

You would! A walk on SDS is £9.75!

With a Railcard:
Day single £9.75 after 10am
Day return: £10.30 after 10am, £12 before 10am
Saver return (return within 1 month): £12.10 valid at any time

Splitting at Newport wouldn't make much of a difference, if travelling after 10am and returning same day you could save less than £1. Have a look on National Rail or another website to get prices.
