Cheltenham - Cardiff - valid via Bristol TM?

Evening all, seeking advice on whether a Cheltenham - Cardiff Central Anytime Day Return is valid via Bristol Temple Meads:

Mrs Bungle is travelling Birmingham - Cardiff tomorrow with a split at Cheltenham (preferred to Chepstow due to better options in case of a missed train for the sake of a couple of quid.)

Her preferred train is 10:30 Birmingham New St - Cardiff.

If she misses that, the next option is 10:42 Birmingham - Bristol Parkway, connecting on to a 12:04 GWR to Cardiff.

If she did that, but the 10:42 then ran late and she missed what is quite a short connection, she would be waiting an hour at Bristol Parkway for the next connection.

If she remained on the 10:42 to Bristol Temple Meads, there would be an earlier connection to Cardiff from there (12:30ish).

The question is - would the Cheltenham - Cardiff Anytime Day Return portion be valid via Bristol Temple Meads, or does it only permit a change at Bristol Parkway and not beyond?

I will be at work and unable to help if she needs help mid-journey so trying to cover all permutations.

Checked the Routeing Guide. Yes, via Bristol is valid.

Cheltenham - Cardiff both RP. Pink pages say valid on Map WT.
