What works are being done there exactly?
They've been working on replacing the footbridge for more months than I care to remember and it's still not open! The island platform matrix signs are still not working and there are constant signs of workmen and associated diggers/containers etc but seldom sight of anyone or any new progress!

Looks like no one else has a scooby either then!

As you know the new bridge is installed and the temporary one was meant to be removed a few weeks ago but this never went ahead. As to why I am not to sure but I will see if I can find out at work tomorrow.

The new footbridge at Leighton Buzzard is in the same situation (except that it is not replacing anything). Taken absolutely ages to build and now looks finished but still not brought into use.

Which one is the new one? I'm sure there were two footbridges in use when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

The new one is at the northern end of platforms. It wasn't in use when I last went through a week before Xmas.

There are two bridges just to the south of the station buildings, right next to each other but the older one starts and finishes outside the station. The new one is at the north end of the platforms (as al green mentions) and is still not in use this week.

This is all very interesting but doesn't actually address my question about Cheddington!
