Cheapest way? Liverpool-Heysham Port

We will be departing Lime Street on the 0832 on Friday to Wigan NW ending up in Carnforth for breakfast then jumping on the Boat train to Heysham Port

We have a Two Together Railcard.

Cheapest I can get is £36.00;

Liverpool-Wigan Single £13.40
Wigan-Heysham Port Single £21.00
Lancaster-Carnforth Return £4.80

Anyone do better?

Why not just buy a single Liverpool - Heysham Port, plus the Lancaster - Carnforth return?

Instead of buying Liverpool - Wigan singles, consider buying tickets from Little Sutton - Burscough Junction. NRE will give you an itinerary via Wigan (continuing to Burscough Bridge) on the ticket; start short at Liverpool and stop short at Wigan.

The ticket is £1.70 per single.
