Hi all. My kids are now at an age where they'd find a sleeper train a fun experience. So, where in Europe would I be able to take two kids on an overnight journey for as little as possible? As they are kids, I'd need to book an entire compartment. Start and finish need to be accessible by BA (pay with points) or Ryanair for cheap tickets. Any thoughts? So far cheapest I can find is Vienna to Venice, a Family couchette cabin for €149...
Thanks for any suggestions!

Something like Bratislava to Kosice or Prague to Kosice would probably come in quite cheap.

Of course it depends what sort of start and destination you're after. Vienna is certainly nicer than Kosice.

Thanks rg177, I hadn't thought of heading east. Ryanair serve Kosice too...

I was probably too harsh on Kosice too- it does in fact look like a very nice city indeed. I'll be finding out for myself in July.

Romania should be cheap

Interesting as this would be, and cheap for the train fares, the cost of positioning flights would be higher. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Are there any cheap ways to get Night Riviera or Caledonian sleepers?...

Is it just you plus 2 children?
Then an ordinary 3-berth sleeper from/to Prague is about EUR 45 (for the whole cabin) plus fares - there are cars to Poprad for the Tatra, and a Dinner B&B car that leaves Prague early evening for Kosice and another on Prague-Bratislava-Budapest. ISTR Bratislava to Kosice is even cheaper.
For about EUR 80 plus fares you can do Zurich-Prague - a single sleeper that runs attached to other trains.

Night Riviera tends to be cheaper than the Caley AFAIK.
