Cheapest from Leicester to Cardiff Central return?

Hi guys, this is the cheapest I've found so far with a 16-25 rail card -

Fri 24th Feb
Leicester 18:49 --> Birmingham New St - £5.30
Birmingham New St 20:30 --> Cardiff Central - £13.85

Sun 26th Feb
Cardiff Central 17:45 --> Birmingham New St - £13.85
Birmingham New St 20:22 --> Leicester - £5.30

Total - £38.30

Dates of travel 24th Feb (after 5pm) - 26th Feb (after 4pm)

It's £5 cheaper splitting the ticket (above) than getting one return ticket, but is there a possibility the fare can be bought down even more?

try splitting at Cheltenham instead/aswell.

For an extra £1.90 you can buy two Off Peak Returns (SVR) splitting at Cheltenham Spa. These wouldn't tie to specific services as the Advance Purchase tickets you've quoted above would.
