I know that from looking at this forum before it was Glasgow to Eskbank but is there anything cheaper?

Eskbank to Glasgow is £18.10 for an off peak open return.

No open returns from Edinburgh

What times of day does the OP need to travel? If it's not before 0915 M-F then the Eskbank to Glasgow Off Peak Return is the cheapest I know of.

If the OP needs to travel early morning on a weekday then two Anytime Day Singles routed 'Airdrie' are good value at £25.90 for two. Can mix and match too, if XC can be used in one or both direction(s), their single is £9.30 each way.
