Cheapest and Most Expensive Tickets ?

I did a search on here and couldn't find a thread - if there is please redirect me.

What are the cheapest and most expensive SINGLE ADULT tickets available on the main UK Rail Network for travel BETWEEN two stations within the UK using normal TOC services (not private charter etc) .

My guess is there may be fare of under £1 somewhere.....

As for the most expensive is there a single "over a monkey" - got to be 1st Class:

Now I haven't checked this fares manuel but if we try Norwich to London in NFM7 there was some fares for 999.99 not sure what sort of ticket these were.

I have done a random check on Thurso to Penzance - 1st Anytime Single £467.00

Is there a First Anytime Single higher than this

Think that is to stop guards/ticket office staff from selling them, as that type of ticket is either redundant or no longer available. For example XC used to do cheaper tickets for travel only on XC services between various stations (not advance tickets), so if you look at Newcastle - Morpeth the ticket shows up as costing £9999.00, is a ZZZ and also says 'Not For Travel'

Mallaig - Penzance is 486.00 for a 1st Anytime Single. Not sure why as it is closer than Thurso.

Probably none, as someone would surely notice it is cheaper to split at around 1000 places on route. However I've wondered if any die hard ticket collector has added it to their collection?

I'm sure he will! Largest amount I've ever paid for a ticket was £300 and least that was for 3 months and not one journey.

Between two londons stations first class I got £999,998.00 (I even have a picture)

But they refused tos ell it to me on National Rail online on the grounds it was faulty.

More than likely but no-one seems to care.

If you go to Twickenham, there is a little hut which is used as an extra ticket office for rugby fans to ease congestion on match days. One time a couple of years ago, my father was orchestrating replacement buses from the hut, and I went along for the day. I kinda helped myself to some of the blank ticket stock that had been left behind after the Six Nations tournament...

Not sure I'd be admitting that on here.
