Cheap VT tickets

Hi there,
Planning on doing a Crewe to Manchester run within the next few weeks, are the cheap VT only tickets available on the station/train or do they have to be booked in advance?

There are no Advance fares for this flow.

There are Off Peak Day fares available from the station for walk-up travel any time before departure. There are Anytime Day fares available from the station or on board the train.

'VT Only' tickets can be purchased from the station (ticket office and ticket machines) on the day of travel. I would not advise attempting to purchase a ticket on-board the train as frequently the only ticket check is when you try to exit the platforms at Piccadilly.

An Off Peak Day Return is £9.10 (Virgin Trains Only) or £12.30 (Any Permitted)
