Cheap fares to N.Wales

Hello, going to North Wales for football matches a couple of times later this month, but the train seems quite expensive. whats the cheapest way to do the following?

25th April... Crewe to Colwyn Bay return, arrive CB around 12-1ish, depart 6ish.

30th April... Crewe to Bangor return, same sort of times.

2 tickets needed, 1 adult, 1 senior railcard.

It's not that expensive really!

25 April - £15 + £22.70 = Total: £37.70 return
30 April - £17.50 + £26.50 = Total: £44.00 return

Total: £81.70

Not bad really for two people as a return ticket!

If you were going to make more trips within an 8 day period, then I would advise you get a North and Mid-Wales flexi rover that would cost £94.60 (total) for the two of you and would give you 4 days unlimited travel (within an 8 day period) throughout the North/Mid Wales rail network and parts of Cheshire.

There are cheap advances Crewe-Colwyn Bay at £7.50 each way on the 25th (Bank Hol) on the Virgin Trains site (out at 0949 or 1049), but the only evening return may be a bit late for you (2044).

On the 30th (Sat) there's a cheap VT advance single £9.50 to Bangor on the 1043 but no similar return fare, so you're stuck with the £26.50 CDR.
