Hello,

I was travelling back from Eurovision in Liverpool today and there was a train with no reservations that Avanti used to help clear through the volumes of people - the 1203 from Liverpool Lime Street.

It was an extremely nice train (branded 'Intercity) and interior was lovely - much nicer than even first class on Avanti - it was like going back in time. Throughout the route there were rail enthusiasts taking photos etc so it felt like a special train but does anyone know what the train was and who was running it (they weren't wearing Avanti uniforms but looked very smart). Photos attached.

Interesting - I didn't see that thread. I heard a member of Avanti staff saying they'd timed it to transport all the people who had checked out of hotels at 11am - seemed like very good planning!

LSL presumably chartered by Avanti powered by 86101 on the rear with an all 1st Class rake plus mini buffets.
It wasn’t an all FC rake - though a sizeable number of (declassified) First coaches.

It was indeed! I’ll lock this thread to avoid duplication but please do continue discussing there.
