The line has been disconnected at Elbowend Junction for several years. It was retained to RNAD Crombie, now DM Crombie. Crombie is much reduced in scope owing to rationalisation of munition storage nationally and no resumption of defence traffic can ever be envisaged.

I think the OP may be asking about the line between Charlestown and Alloa.

Probably that is what the OP meant. No doubt I was being too precise. The line from Charlestown Junction (for not at Charlestown) to Charlestown is the original line dating in its early wagonway form to the late C18th. It was not a branch of the Kincardine Railway. The Kincardine Railway, a late addition to the network, was opened from the west to join at the new Elbowend Junction only in 1906.
