The arcade subway to the northern side of Strand is permanently closed, the owner of the building is converting it back to office type use instead of retail.
Using the same internal route from the concourse as always, I think. The 3 street entrances mentioned for closure (in those 2019 plans), are spread around a separate block on the north side of the Strand. They would be pretty much irrelevant to someone arriving in the mainline station, if you used one you’d have walked past 3 or 4 other entrances and just be doubling back underground.
Yes, and re-reading the article I think he‘s not helping when he refers to the area closing down as a “concourse”. I’d have stuck with subway. The actual underground concourse is underneath the station forecourt, if you check Google Streetview the stairs under the station front canopy are labelled Underground and Subway, but to me it‘s a bit far from the roadside, I expect nowadays people prefer crossing the Strand at street level anyway. I think there are still 6 entrances.
