Charing Cross, a little thought.

Since Wembley reopened, the Jubilee Line has been crowded on both the FA Cup and England v. Brazil matchdays, so much so that when I was standing at Green Park it was impossible to get on a train and I had to wait for the 7th (!) train to pass before anyone could get off the platform. As you can imagine, the platform became dangerously overcrowded. This may have been the case at recent other events such as the Muse gigs and the other smaller fixtures that have been played at Wembley, but Im not sure.

How about they have a special timetable in operation on Wembley matchdays which allows some trains to go to Charing Cross (detraining at Green Park), turn around and come back -- and reducing the service along the extension. I notice that Charing Cross is actually in the current WTTs but I can't find a train that goes there! This idea would just keep more capacity on the Wembley-end of the line as well as letting trains be empty to passengers waiting at stations along the middle on the line such as Green Park and Bond Street. Another idea would be to allow the trains to take passengers to Charing Cross providing good connections to Wembley from the Northern & Bakerloo lines but this may be a bit too much hassle with H&S.

Any thoughts on this?

I'd say wait for them to finish moving block.

This was done recently when they had a scaffold pole on the line that caused delays during the afternoon and up to the close of MUSE concert.

Trouble is any passengers that want to go past Green Park would have to either stay on the platform at Wembley, causing trouble to the station and police congestion plans and at Green Park, they would end up on the platform, confused and with the possibility of a partial station closure if there are too many.Plus the time to detrain the train, even with 3 Station staff (if that many can be found nowadays!) you're looking at a couple of minutes.

Its worth it when you have nothing else.... Having said all the above there probably are some in the Wembley Special Timetables. With trains starting at Stanmore, running empty to Wembley...

That's a very good point, and one which I hadn't thought of. Perhaps not such a good idea afterall :-P
