Currently at Dewsbury and regretting bailing from the slightly delayed 1716 to Huddersfield, the 1720 to Liverpool currently delayed by 30 mins after being held up between Leeds and York, and then held again at Leeds. Is this fallout from the Hull Trains issues near Doncaster?

Edit: Just left Dewsbury on the 1720 which was held for another 5 at Dewsbury due to passcom activation. Guard almost apologised for a "slight" delay before realising that 35mins is certainly not "slight"!

Second edit: The Penistone line seems to have been subject to issues too, presumably they're not related to the HT issues even if TPE are... Well, Northern's loss is Yorkshire Tiger's gain!

And all this when there wasn't a match at White Hart Lane
Were the trains at all affected by the fire near the Markets in Leeds?

Lineside issue at Penistone

I suspect TPE will have been feeling the fallout of the Hull Trains failure this afternoon as trains will likely have been stacking up through York

Seems to be a day for disruption there was a train failure at Maccelsfield earlier on that also played havoc with VT,XC and Northern. Not a good day.

Wasn't aware of the fire near Leeds Market, but I imagine that would affect Westbound TPE services along with any Northern services from East of Leeds along with those formed from ECS off Neville Hill or previous services from the Garforth direction. The Penistone issue I'd expected that poor rail conditions might be factor.

That was what I was referring to with the hyperbole alert, well done! Speaking of football crowds though, my reason for travelling tonight was to avoid the crowds from Batley to Huddersfield tomorrow. Still have to make it back, but going by bus may be a wise choice!

Was a jumper on a bridge on the St Helens line this morning too that caused Wigan-St Helens services to be closed for four hours.
