Chaos at Sheffield (18 Dec 19)

Problems at Sheffield all day today due to a points problem around the Dore area.

Apparently this morning they was also a points issue in the Barnsley area.

At the train station this morning noone knew what was going on. One train was cancelled because the driver was on another train, which usually would be fair enough..... But it certainly confused the guard and driver who were already sat on the train waiting to be dispatched.

Could well have been the driver who was booked to take it on elsewhere wouldn't have been able to meet it, so possibly better to cancel it somewhere it can be shunted away or used on something else than to cancel it somewhere that can't be done and may stop the job.
