Chaos at New Street

Everything is delayed, Cross City getting cancelled, all due to a signalling failure at Proof House Jn. platform allocations have been wiped from screens and being announced when known, unfortunately announcements are contradicting the screens, there are also NR staff basically reading out loud the screens, at one point at Longbridge train was replatformed then cancelled but On the board it still had its original platform.

Having just departed New Street a few minutes ago I'd hardly call it chaos, platform allocations have very sensibly been removed to avoid throngs of passengers having to shuffle between platforms - it makes more sense to keep them on the concourse until a definitive platform is known.

NR staff are out among passengers on the concourse indeed shouting the platforms as they are confirmed.

All in all considering the level of disruption caused by the failure, I'd say things are being handled as well as possible.

Im due to arrive Birmingham @ 2140 hopefully it would of been sorted by then.

Bristol area has just recovered from a failed freight train @ Filton Abbey Wood.

Just spoken to some relatives who changed at New Street at 20.20 they said it wasn't chaos their only complaint was the announcements were hard to hear however they found the staff very helpful.

Not just due to New Street, but XC has been totally up the wall today. I imagine a some stock to be out of place tomorrow morning due to early terminations and last minute diagram changes
