Just noticed that the booking engine on londonmidland.com now has "Valid on London Midland trains only" pre-selected, and -- outrageously -- hidden, so you can't see what it's done unless you expand "show other routes".

When did this change?

I've no objection to LM flogging only their own fares if they want, but they should at least make it clear what they're doing.

I'm not sure what you mean? If I search for London to Birmingham it offers both Virgin and London Midland services.

If I remember correctly, that option makes the booking engine make an effort to find and show services that "London Midland Only" fares are valid on, rather than the default of showing only the fastest services (which, on the Birmingham to London route, tend to be Virgin). Doesn't seem outrageous to me. Certainly less so than some of the tricks the Virgin website gets up to.

Seems nothing new to me, the booking system has always had that feature when I've used it…

You failed to say that it also has "Show Fastest Trains" pre-selected.

As most internet booking engines only show fastest journeys London Midland are showing nothing less than normal.
