Change Sleeper booking that also includes an advance ticket

Hi,

I made a booking to travel to Penzance on the sleeper. That is an open ticket but it was purchased as a sleeper fare so I am not sure exactly what ticket type it is. Best guess is "Twin cabin shared use". For the return journey I have an advance ticket. The tickets were made on the same booking code. The tickets were purchased from GWR via their website.

I need to change my dates for both legs of the journey. The web site will not allow a date change but it does offer a cancel ticket option.

I tried to call GWR but their automated service tells me that they are too busy and to call back later.

I cannot make it to a GWR station before the original travel date without making a special long distance trip to do that.

Can any network rail station rebook my sleeper ticket?
If I persist with calling GWR and eventually they are not too busy will they be able to help? Their web site suggests that online tickets have to be changed online. There will be a fee to pay for the advance ticket date change.

It's a bit surprising how hard it is to amend a ticket online.

It's a bit surprising how hard it is to amend a ticket online.

It's the sleeper portion that's causing that. In my experience I've always needed to speak/email directly rather than doing it on the website. Though this was for the Caledonian rather than Rivera Sleeper.
