ATOC can't even get that document right. On page 4, they state:

Single tickets
The difference between the price of the Single ticket held and price of the First Class Single ticket, available for immediate travel, for the journey being made.
Advance = difference to First Class Return plus £10 administration fee.

They do correct that to Single in the subsequent "simplifier".

Also, if I'm reading this document correctly, on an Advance ticket, if you break your journey intending to resume the same day or if you end short, then you will save a lot of money by stating that you will be resuming your journey on a later date, as the instruction is then: "Treat as being without a ticket for the onward journey and charge the appropriate Single fare."

It's like York-Donny is no longer valid via Leeds in the Routeing Guide, yet all staff accept it via Leeds, it has historically always been valid via Leeds and late at night you are advised to go via Leeds. That's clearly a mistake by ATOC. They didn't consult and that is a breach of the agreement made at privatisation. So someone could say "well these are the new rules" and deny someone going via Leeds on a Donny-York ticket, but the Railway would be in breach of the law if they did enforce it.

When did this change? It wasn't that long ago that GNER made a change so that all Leeds-Doncaster (and south thereof) and all York-Doncaster (and south thereof) were valid via the other. Got me thinking now though - was it Retford and south thereof?
