Not that it matters to me any more ... but why couldn't the League 1 playoff final have been at Wembley tomorrow? Well done to Stevenage today BTW.

Wouldn't it take time to get the stadium ready for another match? One of the goals doesn't even have a net right now. The FA Cup Final had to be moved to a week earlier so as to give two clear weeks of no matches at Wembley.

i'm a man utd fan & for what it's worth we were outclassed by a far superior team. see,not all man utd fans are bad losers. i don't like to see them lose. nobody likes to see their team lose but a good fan of any club knows when to accept defeat with dignity.

Yeah, even Liverpool can now beat ManUre on a regular basis! :)

The two clear weeks was a UEFA ruling for the Champions League final. But normally, they have three play off finals at Wembley on 3 consecutive days over the Spring bank holiday weekend. I think what they did this season was daft - in the good old days, before the FA Cup semi finals were at Wembley, they usually had one at Hillsborough and the other at Villa Park but sometimes would move the venue to somewhere nearer if local teams were playimng each other, for instance back in the 60s or 70s Chelsea had a semi at White Hart Lane if I remember correctly when they played Watford, I think it was, or maybe Luton.

This year in the playoffs, we've had AFC Wimbledon v Luton at Eastlands with exhorbitant ticket prices, Stevenage v Torquay, and we're getting Reading and Swansea on Monday. In fact the only northern club in the playoffs is Huddersfield (tomorrow).

Anyway, back to the thread, I thought Barca were magnificent tonight. The only problem was that my daughter had a bet on them winning 3-1 at 14-1, so I spent the last 20 mins having to keep my fingers croissed that there wouldn't be any more goals.

Mystic Greenback predicts that Barcelona will win 3-1. Unfortunately, due to a TARDIS malfunction, he was unable to post this before the game finished.

Now that it's back in working order, how about a prediction for the match between Ferguson Jnr vs the Northerners?

Well I am a Man U fan, admittedly and have been for the past 20 years before anyone starts, and when Barca scored the first goal, I was ready for the worst, when we scored our goal, I was jumping up and down on the sofa but when Messi and Villa scored their cracking goals, even I have to admit we were outplayed by the better side

Absolutely fair play to Barca, we were beaten by the better team

Barcelona were the better team, but Manchester United started brightly in the first ten minutes

I am afraid that it is still knackered. It's a timey wimey thing apparently.

Still, 1-0 to Ferguson Jnr! Mind you, given my performance in Fantasy Football...

That is a brave prediction indeed. Given Posh's record this season, coupled with the 4-4 Huddersfield had only a few games back, surely there'll be plenty of drama? I eagerly await 3pm with anticipation. :D

It is probably both brave and foolish. It's largely base don the fact that such importnat games tend to be tense affairs, with few goals.

I hope I am wrong and it's a good game with plenty of excitement!

Barca were awesome, 68% possession, 13 shots OT, three well-worked goals. A neutral who thought United would win yesterday was a severe optimist, Barca are the best team in the world without question, and I am tempted to say probably the greatest team in a generation... Messi is definitely up there with Pele and Maradona already, his goal in the first semi I think was better than Maradona's. Absolutely brillliant team, and for once Fergie was actually curtious to the opposition!

Indeed. The fact that Valdes has only about 10 international caps tells you something about how many good players they have...

Well, I was just gonna ask for tips for tomorrow when the first went in, it's now, well, never mind. At least better Ferguson Jnr than Snr to have a smug grin on his face :(

I suppose the bias Man Utd fans and even more bias british press and Fergimoan will only now say that Barcelona are the best club football in world at the moment. I mean when Arsenal had the temerity to beat Barcelona earlier in the season, they were regarded by quite a few Moan utd fans that beating Barca would be no problem as they are not that great because Arsenal beat them. Not that i like Barcelona, but it was good to see Messi score his first goal on uk soil against them.

I can't believe Posh managed to keep a clean sheet!

I've only just got back onto the forum since the final, and I have to say it was a one sided game. United looked sharp in the first ten minutes, but that wore off all too quickly and Barcelona were by far the deserved winners.
